I also am new to putting a site together http://afk.site.nfoservers.com/forums/index.php. However after installing the phpbb3 with a X-Treme Style I think I want to add a portal. I have read Board3 Portal will work but the only instructions on installing this blow me away. I have no experience with where all these lines of code are to be changed. I then looked at AutoMOD but I am not sure if this will work I do not see some of the files it is asking me to maintain the correct data structure with as I change them. Can someone direct me to a simple/beginners way to do this? I have next to zero experience so I need a link to step by step instructions I guess.
I did read some post(s) in this forum where Drupal was suggested as possibly a better choice to start with. So far I havent really found a theme we like as much but I am willing to start over with this is the simple way to get a simple website started for our gaming clan.
Thanks for the reply. I only tried to use the portal that was verified to work with the version I was using. The one you suggested says it is for phpBB3 Olympus I am not sure that it is compatible. Like I mentioned I know very little other than what I have read in the past week or so. Are these portals all pretty much able to work with different versions
