Leap second caused futex issues

Post by Velsk »

In response to the TF2 server CPU spike threads I started on the hlds lists I was emailed the following link this morning:
http://article.gmane.org/gmane.linux.kernel/1321882/

I've rebooted several times in the last month so I'm not sure this would fix anything on my VDS, but I am wondering if the Xen hosts have had this workaround applied.

The clocks for each domU (VDS) run independently of the host system, and Xen's clock also runs independently of the dom0 (management domain), so the leap second doesn't affect us. Individual customers that run ntpd inside the domU could have potentially been affected, but I haven't heard many reports of it (most likely do not).
