Explain it like I'm 5. I Need to do basic installs for sourc

I need to do some basic plugins for sourcemod and metamod, but I also need you to explain it to me like I'm 5 (I'm sure some of you are familiar with this term on reddit) A step by step, I've found a few but I'm obviously missing some things. I can't even seem to get an addons folder right.

1.Go here and download the latest snapshot for your OS.You want the 1.9 branch.

2.Go here and create your VDF for CS:GO.http://www.sourcemm.net/vdf

3.Upload addons folder to your csgo folder & drop the VDF file in the addons folder.

4.Restart the server & type meta version in the server console.If it responds with the version, then it installed correctly.

5.Stop the server & download the latest snapshot for version 1.9 of SM.

6.Upload the addons folder to your csgo folder & overwrite.Start the server and type meta list in the server console.If it shows SM in the list then it installed correctly.

Disregard the above post if you have both MM & SM installed correctly & list the plugins your trying to install.

I read this over and over and over again. And have tried it EXACTLY as instructed, didn't work. AND I get an error for my addons (When trying to create one) folder that it's not the right file extension allowed.

Okay stop the server and delete the addons folder.When you downloaded the latest version of MM it should contain an addons folder.Place your metamode.vdf in that folder & upload that addons folder to your csgo folder.Then start the server & once its up type meta version in the console.It list some info. about the current version of MM.Then take both the addons & cfg from your SM download & upload those to your csgo folder.Once that is done restart the server and type meta list in the console.It should show SM in the list of plugins currently loaded.Once this is done list the plugins you need installed.

You should only see that error about the file extension if you are using the file manager itself for this, which is only meant for config files. For addon install, you will need to use the FTP to transfer files, which can also be found on the File manager page.

Ahhhhhh.I assumed your were using a FTP client.I recommend FileZilla if you need one.

oh yeah. It worked, too.

I guess it will be a while before everything is stable.
