Reporting a server

Post by lamezzz »

Well, Not 100% where I should post this. Just wanted to report one of the cs 1.6 servers u host which sends virus, http://www.gametracker.com/games/cs/for ... post304669 I made a thread @ gametracker and they said that you all are the host.

I believe you can test yourself if u wish, I have not joined back on that server since, but as I joined it would send the virus and ask if u want to run it. My anti virus instantly stopped the virus and quarantined it.

Thank you for reading, hopefully something will be done ;].
Ps: Please moved to the right section if there is one..

I don't have that site's special joining software installed, but I tried connecting to the server directly and did not experience a problem. This would seem to be tied to GT.

The best way to contact us about a potential TOS violation is directly, via our contact form, email, or the "Help!" page in our control panel.

GT is just a big advertising engine for its owner. They used to be more subtle about it, but now they just hit you over the head with it constantly..

I joined that server and was unable to reproduce your results, From that screen shot it looks like Firefox is prompting you to download a file from a website you visited.

As you can see from the screenshot the name of the file is only cstrike.exe, most likely to just confuse people and trick them in to running it, last time I checked it is not even possible for a game server to transfer an .exe and execute it.

However it is always best to contact us by emailing support@nfoservers.com so we can take a look at the server in question.
@Kraze^NFo> Juski has a very valid point
@Juski> Got my new signature, thanks!
@Kraze^NFo> Out of context!
@Juski> Doesn't matter!
@Juski> You said I had a valid point! You can't take it back now! It's out there!

?.. if you look at the screenshot hl.exe has 2 tabs open in the bottom of the taskbar, tell me when hl.exe "cs 1.6" opens another window when it's a game. I am not 100% sure myself but I believe it's on the welcome page of the server which connected me that, 2nd I was not on any site I never been before and it only happen 2 times when I joined the server. Because I wanted to confirm what happened with a friend, then I was asking how to report them blah blah lol. But anyways it's not really my problem since I really won't be joining back there, I just thought I would report them and let the host know. It's up to u all to look into it etc, I gonna go back to my work/gaming ;].
You may close this thread ty for the help/reading this.

Since it is happening when you click the GT link, but not when we connect to the server directly, this is very likely to be an issue specific to GT. It is something that their people would need to investigate.

(The game itself also does not use Firefox.)

I respect that and thank you for bringing it to our attention. I hope that GT looks into it in more depth.

Looking at your screenshot, I can see your downloading torrents from bestrepack.net.
Do you not think it might be a virus from something you previously downloaded?
Looks like a site that offers pirated games from Russia. Not exactly legit, so can see you getting other crap.
Maybe something infected in your browser?
