Want to play sound through Teamspeak on remote computer

Post by nbtc971 »

Let me tell you what I want to do, then maybe you can tell me if I have any options..

I've installed Teamspeak on to our virtual server, and I'm trying to get it to play a particular wave file when users enter a particular channel on our TS server. You do this using a TS plugin called Soundboard and Winamp. I can't get it to work because there is no sound card available to me so Winamp throws out an error about a bad or missing driver. I don't need the VM to play sound, I just need it to think that it can. Is there anyway that I can do that?

**UPDATE
I was able to get the remote VM to play sound on my local PC (I hit play and it plays locally), but as far as a virtual capture device, I haven't found anything, so in TS it still says I have no capture device.

You can use Virtual Audio Cable to mimic an audio driver, however this does not work over remote desktop. So all of your configuring, diagnosing and troubleshooting needs to be done over VNC.
@Kraze^NFo> Juski has a very valid point
@Juski> Got my new signature, thanks!
@Kraze^NFo> Out of context!
@Juski> Doesn't matter!
@Juski> You said I had a valid point! You can't take it back now! It's out there!

I had already found VAC but I'm trying to figure out how to set it up, your tip is probably what will put me over the top. I will report back if I can't figure it out. Thanks.
