getting gamemode to work?
Hello there!
so I'm trying to set up a sledbuild server.. and I cant get it to work.
now.. I've added the sledbuild folder into the gamemode's folder then switched the default game to sledbuild and added the map into my map folder and the only thing I can get to load up is the map?
the only way I can get close, is when I add the API key and the collection ID while still having the default game mode being sledbuild, but that doesn't make to much sense to me because from what I'v read all I need to do is the API key and the collection ID
now I'm just wondering if I'm missing anything at all?
Thank you so much!
C.J.

Have you double checked to make sure that you have the name of the Sled Build folder in the gamemodes folder is copied into the default game mode section of the control panel correctly? The Steam Workshop shouldn't have any effect on this.

Re: getting gamemode to work?
hmm, yeah I just tried copy and pasting the name of the folder into the section.. and all it looks like it's doing is loading the map(like I can run around and everything.. it just doesn't function as the normal game mode).. there should be 1st 2nd and 3rd on the upper left and the speed stuff on the top right.
and they only come up when I added the collection ID and API numbers in there as well.

Have you checked log files for any possible information there?

do you mean the event logs?.. or the access logs?
Re: getting gamemode to work?
Are you familiar with using FTP? You can check the the most recent file in the logs folder and see if any information is being given out, specifically relating to error messages.

Re: getting gamemode to work?
Would you mind giving me the IP to your server so I can come on and take a look?

Re: getting gamemode to work?
Ok, first I would recommend running a websync. Go to your control panel, click the Websync tab and then press Sync files. This will bzip2 your map, making it a quicker download.

ok just started that now,.. thanks for the tip
Re: getting gamemode to work?
In your included website, there should be a folder named server, can you confirm that inside that folder there is the sledding map with a .bz2 file extension?

Re: getting gamemode to work?
how would I get to my website files?.. all I know is how to get to my server files
Re: getting gamemode to work?
When you run the websync, there should be a section at the top of the page that gives a link to your website.
