Hello,
I'm trying to run an old gameserver on my vps with CentOS 5.8 i386.
But the moment it attempts to make a database connection it gives a segmentation fault.
It doesn't matter if db connection succeeds or not, regardless the same error comes up.
I tried the gameserver on my local CentOS 6.6 ...

I fixed the problem.
Centos 7 had firewall activated by default and required game ports to be opened.

Hello.
I followed some guides to setup my l4d2 server using steamcmd program.
The operating system I used is CentOS 7.
My server apparently runs, but I cannot connect to it at all.
I tried connecting to it from ingame console, but it times out after repeatedly trying to connect "Connection failed ...
