Segmentation fault on application

Hello,

I'm trying to run an old gameserver on my vps with CentOS 5.8 i386.
But the moment it attempts to make a database connection it gives a segmentation fault.
It doesn't matter if db connection succeeds or not, regardless the same error comes up.

I tried the gameserver on my local CentOS 6.6 i386 which I run inside vmware, but there it launches fine.

The game was originally compiled for a very old red hat linux version.
Does someone know why this error occurs?

To begin, the name of the game would be helpful and then what version of the mysql are you using in both scenarios.
