I'm requesting to be forwarded on how to perform this operation. I'm using W2K3x64, running a few game servers and IIS for a simple download location.
How would I do the following, unless there is a better set of steps:
Option 1 -- specific directory(s)
1. In specified directory, compress ...

I know that FireDaemon works on Win2k8, but I'll have to do some research on srvany (if it doesn't work, though, I suspect that we can find another free service configuration utility that will).
Are you on Win2k8 or Win2k8 R2?

Setting up Services for W2K8
Hi,
I've setup services before in Windows Server 2003 (SRVANY).
Does anyone know if this would be the way for W2K8 also? I haven't been successful in what to search for on this.
Basically, I want to know how to setup any console application to be service instead, ie., SRCDS, etc.

I'm not that familiar w/ the new and improved GUI of W2K8. I had enabled the Firewall and intended to only allow TCP on port 27015.
In starting the server and testing, I cannot get a successful query with HLSW, for example.
I set an inbound and outbound rules.
