Anyone planning on playing this game? I've been looking forward to it since they first announced it over a year ago. It's a free to play first person mech shooter. Alpha testing is currently going on with a beta coming up. The official launch is December 12th. I'm hoping they will have dedicated ser...

Leap second caused futex issues
In response to the TF2 server CPU spike threads I started on the hlds lists I was emailed the following link this morning: http://article.gmane.org/gmane.linux.kernel/1321882/ I've rebooted several times in the last month so I'm not sure this would fix anything on my VDS, but I am wondering if the X...

Emails from Valve mailing lists bouncing
I opened a ticket regarding this but was instructed to post here. I have an email account I set up through my webhost plan. The last email I've gotten from a Valve mailing list to my email address was on Saturday. Looking at the archives I can see there have been many emails sent out to the list sin...

Re: Django Autoinstaller
Hey John. How do you get a Django FastCGI instance to reload the application it's handling from the .py files? If I make changes to the code of an application those changes aren't recognized until I disable and re-enable FastCGI support for the subdomain. Is there a better way to go about doing this?

Re: Django Autoinstaller
Whoops. I didn't notice you could expand the subdomains for more options. That did the trick.
Thanks for the quick response, as always.

Re: Django Autoinstaller
Hey John. I'm trying to use the autoinstaller right now. I added a subdomain pointing to the folder with the fastcgi file and linked media folders. All the Django/Python files created I left untouched, so the fastcgi file is still pointing to sample_project that was created by the autoinstaller. I s...

Django Autoinstaller
The current autoinstaller for Django is 1.3. Django 1.4 was officially released as of March 23rd. Are there any plans to support it?

Re: Price drop on VDSes
Thanks John. Changed the price without any downtime as you said. Are these new prices temporary?

Re: Price drop on VDSes
Awesome! Quick question: If we just want to lock in the new price without altering the VDS configuration does the VDS go down while the price change is processed? I started the process and noticed this on the confirmation page: You will be changing "xxx" (a virtual server): (No changes mad...

Re: Need help with Mapchooser plugin.
You've probably already resolved this by now, but in case you haven't the umc_mapcycle.txt file goes in your base orangebox/tf directory. Two directories up from your sourcemod folder. Also, I'm not 100% sure but I think that the builtinvotes_revote plugin only works for Powerlords Builtinvotes Mapc...

Re: Bandwidth, Slots and Managed vs. Unmanaged
I'm running 2 24 player TF2 servers on a dual core Debian VDS plan. I have the affinity of each server instance set to run on separate cores. When full they will top out at around 50-60% utilization of a single core during normal gameplay. Average utilization is probably somewhere closer to 40%, dep...

Re: How Unlimited is Unlimited Disk Space?
Autorecord is on, and the server is full about 16 hours a day. It's approximately 350MB of demos per day uncompressed. I would compress them before uploading but that still seems like it would become a sizable amount before long. That would be awesome if it were okay, but I wanted to make sure that ...

How Unlimited is Unlimited Disk Space?
I'm using the lite plan at the moment for my website. I'm thinking about starting to host the SourceTV demo files for my server on the website for players to download. My server is currently set to autorecord each match, so for an entire days worth of matches for an extended period of time this coul...

Re: Linux Distro Performance Differences
Well it looks like the issue was indeed the srcds install. I have one server running a clean install of srcds with metamod and sourcemod and all the usual plugins with no issues. The second server is running on the old install and still has fps dips on player connects. I will clean it up soon too. W...
