What's with the lag?

Hey guys what's up with the lag? My server in Seattle has been expirencing very noticable lag. My regulars normaly ping in the 10 to 20 but lately they are pinging in the 50-100 What's up with that? And now today on my home server in LA my ping to it is normaly 10 -20 and im pinging 70 -110 and I was the ONLY player on it. I live in West Coviena California. I stoped and started both servers with no change. I have not made any changes to either server in the past week yet the lag has come on it's own. What's going on? And don't say it's due to my plugins as it's not.
