Player Name Changing Update Help

Players can only change their names once every 10 seconds, with a max of 5 times every 10 minutes

Ok so they added this in the last nights update. So i went and tested it and kept changing my name and i could change it as long as i wanted. So i was thinking there must be a cvar command to enable this. Can you please tell me what the cvar command is to enable this or did they just lie about adding this ability?

There isn't a cvar for it, no. Were you doing this while you were connected to a game server with other people in it?

I'm not sure what to tell you. This is something Valve did in their code so they'd be the best ones to contact. I can confirm that you're running the latest version of their server software and that they say it works in CS:S (though not in HL2MP), but since it's not something we added to the package it's difficult for me to troubleshoot it.

One thing you might try is disabling your plugins, if you're running any.

yea i am and they have namechange stuff which i disabled there version cuz it kicks so i guess i better try that to see if there interfering

Looks like this guy on the STEAM forums is having the same problem.
The update only limits players from changing their names once every 10 seconds, with a max of 5 times every 10 minutes. Dont know if you were taking that into account or not.

sure am i changed my name at least 10 times in 10 seconds. So its not working but remember i have Beetles Plugin and Mani's running so 1 of them must be messing it up or both cuz they both have name change restrictions
