Forums last posts block

Post by Profane »

I want a block on my site, that shows the last i dont know say 10 posts or something. I found lots of blocks that do this but the thing is, I can't get them to work because the forum isnt a module in my site. I'm using the auto installation forums that are seperate from the site. So if someone could please help me, it would be much apreciated.

I have been wanting this block since day 1...

Here's a link to a remote forum block that apparently has worked for some.

Alright, that block, i tryed to install, its not what i want, It like allows you to see info on Module Forums that are on another site. I need a block that will allow you to see the info on forums that are completly seperate from the site.

I have a quick question as well, Will all or most forum "addons or mods" work on the "Module Forum" :?:

I moved this post to the proper forum.
I have never tried to do any addons onto the module forum, but they have a similar structure as the standalone so I would assume that some of the more basic ones should definately work. You will run into problems with certain table prefixes on the SQL for the more involved addons/plugins. Any plugin is probably adaptable enough to work on the module boards.

What about the theme, is the only way to change the theme/templete is by downloading a new theme for the entire site?

Thats nuts! Is there ways around this?

Most phpBB templates should work in the phpNuke bb module. IMHO it wouldnt look too sharp if you had different styles on your phpNuke and phpBB module. There are Nuke Themes that include a phpbb template for the module.

Ya, but the thing is, my site teamss.nuclearfallout.net is using a theme that doesnt come with the forum templete... So, using the subsilver one, im sure you can imagine doesnt look to sharp either.

Well, I am not sure how the phpNuke blocks work, but I can give you a link to the phpbbmod that I used on my site. Its called phpBBFetchAll. It works pretty well and is quite simple to install. Be sure to look at the examples and read the documentation. http://phpbbfetchall.sourceforge.net
Your problem will be getting the output into a block.

Wow that does look pretty good, I dont think the portal was finished when I first installed the utility. The answer to your question can probably be found on the forums @ http://www.phpbbfetchall.com
