Question on "downloads" directory
We currently have a CS:S server with NFO and have noticed that the "\downloads" directory has been filling up with a lot of .dat and .ztmp files. Digging into the files, they appear to be regular VTF files and server cached files. My question is, are these something we need to be worrying about? Currently, they're taking up over 300 megs of drive space. Should we be deleting these on a regular basis or what?
The downloads directory primarily contains custom sprays that are uploaded to the server by clients. Having a large downloads directory may cause a ping spike on the server when a new spray is uploaded, although this hasn't been shown for certain.
We actually just put a system in place to clean out this folder daily, at the same time that CS:S servers are restarted in the morning.

Hmmmm... I just checked our directory again and it doesn't look like anything has been deleted. In fact, there's files in there dated all the way back to 5-12-2005. Is it possible that something is misconfigured on our server? Would you or somebody else mind taking a look at it? Our account is "mch". I don't mind manually deleting stuff out of there on a regular basis. I just don't want to mess anything up. Thanks!Edge100x wrote:We actually just put a system in place to clean out this folder daily, at the same time that CS:S servers are restarted in the morning.
