Interested in NFO Servers

Post by flipkid | silentplatoon »

Hello,

I am currently renting a 16 slot server from GriffinRUN and am thinking about making the move to NFO. I have heard great things about your servers and want to give it a try.

The package that I would be getting is a CSS 20 slot New York Pub with High CPU Priority and Hyperaccelerated 12 slot private server.

I would like to take advantage of the two day free trial for the server, as advertised on the front page. How do I go about getting the two day free trial?

My month will end on the 15th with GriffinRUN and I will be switching servers at that point. My move to NFO is at 90% right now and had some questions regarding the server and test server.
  • .01 If you setup a test 20 slot public server for the two day free trial, would that be the same server you give me to rent once the free trial is over?
.02 If the answer to question 01 is "no," could it be possible to make that server you are giving us for the free trial to be the same server we have after the trial?
.03 Could you tell me beforehand which machine my server will be put on once it goes live?
.04 Is there a way to get the server that I'll be renting placed on your fastest machine? If so, is there another charge for that?
The reason I ask this is because with a few other server companies, including my present provider, when they gave us a server to test, it was on a test box and everyone in my squad loved it. Once we got the actual server with a different IP, things were alright for a few days and then it was nowhere near that of the test server.

I appreciate your time in looking into my inquiry and look forward to having NFO as my future server provider.

You'd need to use the Price/order page to order your package. It will then email you a Paypal link including the 2-day free trial period.

Yes.
.03 Could you tell me beforehand which machine my server will be put on once it goes live?
Our systems determine the machine each server is put on based on usage history recent to the order and we can't easily predict it ahead of time. We can move a server after it is created, however, if necessary.
.04 Is there a way to get the server that I'll be renting placed on your fastest machine? If so, is there another charge for that?
The speed of the machine is not a significant factor in server performance past a certain point, and all our NYC machines are dual Opterons that pass that threshold. But, if you are not satisfied with the machine you are placed on, we can manually move you if desired.

That sounds pretty shifty. Our free trial is a true trial, since you would be testing the actual server you would be paying for, at its final IP address.

I appreciate the quick and thorough response, it's a great indicator of NFO's customer service.

I will do as you told me to and place the order, thank you again for your help.

One other question:

If I signup today and the 2 day free trial starts today (ends on Friday 2/10), should I decide to get the server, would you be able to put that IP on hold or reserve that server(s) for me until the 15th (when I get paid)?

Yes, after you disable the server, its settings and properties will be remembered by our system for up to two weeks.

Agree with freedom. GriffinRun's servers are overprices and not worth it.

Hi again,

I'm ready to pay the monthly fee for the two servers that I had the two day free trial with.

How do I go about setting it up?

Thanks!

Contact us via email (rentals@nuclearfallout.net) for a re-activation link. Once the paypal subscription is re-activated, the server will come online almost instantly :).
