Question(s) about renting a BF2 Server from NuclearFallout.

Post by angryhessian »

Question(s) about renting a BF2 Server from NuclearFallout.

I am the leader of a new clan called Future Combat Soldiers.

The first question in this post and string is if =FCS= were to rent
a BF2 Server from NuclearFallout would that be a Ranked BF2 Server?

This is just the first of a few of a few questions =FCS= & myself have.

We want to make sure it's a ranked BF2 server before we rent one.

Thanks

Unfortunately we do not offer ranked servers.
EA seems to randomly choose hosts to call 'trusted partners' and allows only those partners to run ranked servers.
We contacted EA shortly after BF2 was released, and last we heard, we were "near the top of the waiting list". It's a shame really, not many hosts can run BF2 servers like we can.

In my personal opinion, those GSPs that were selected to be a 'partner' to EA became quite proud of this meaningless accolade and as a result, it got to their heads. I suppose this is what you mean by "going stupid".

So, if you MUST rent a ranked BF2 server (and be advised that it has its disadvantages as well, like limited control), you might as well write the names of these 'partners' on a paper and throw darts at it from a distance to choose your host.

HA.. well it sounds like your not a fan of bf2? There has got to be SOME advantage of having your own ranked BF2 server. I would to not have to search for 5 minutes for a server, then to try and join it but only to find out it is full. OR having all your buddies on a server and being the only one who cant get in cause the server is full. Or my personal favorite saying "fuk" 10 too many times and getting banned, or jumping out of an airplane 2 sec before it blows up and getting charged for the TK and having the server ban me because of TK'ing... that is GAH.

those are my reasons for wanting a ranked BF2 server... plus i want to practice for a possible CAL bf2 season. 8O

Well I never said I disliked BF2. It is a great game, and I would play it much more often if my computer could handle it a little better.
I am not, however, a fan of EA. The server program also leaves much to be desired.
And remeber these are my personal opinions, but I do not think I would be too amiss to say that they also represent my colleagues.

there are not too many people that are a fan of EA... that I understand.. Coming from a customer/consumer side of things i find it appalling that EA will not let you folks be authorized or what ever to have servers that are Ranked.... but if you ever hear of someone haveing great success in the SEATTLE area and are not charging people 8$ per slot .. let me know... cheers
