presales questions

Post by Bostton1 »

I have a couple of questions before I order on friday.

I will be ordering a 14 man private dod:s server, do I have to purchase 100 slots for source tv, or do we get a record only option/10 spec slots like at other places?
If you purchase a HLTV, don't forget that it will take a slot on your server. (Note: CS:S servers come with built-in SourceTV support.)
If I get a bad route to the server, does this only correct the return path or will it correct both directions? Is this option available for all my team-mates(roughly 10) that have a problem or just the "renter"? It seems that whenever I rent a server after about a month, my isp will switch routes on me and I start pinging 20-40 higher, this is why I am wondering.
If you have problems with any of our InterNAP bandwidth, we need to know about it. InterNAP can proactively change the outgoing path from the server to you and often repair lag issues that might crop up.
Thanks,

You don't have to purchase any additional servers to have a SourceTV; it's built in to the game. A separate SourceTV relay would only be needed if you plan to broadcast games that more than around 10 people will be watching at once, since having that many people connect directly to the standard game server's tandem SourceTV can cause lag.

We can only fix the outgoing path from a location, in most cases. (Luckily, usually that's where problems lie.)

Absolutely. Actually, we will investigate concerns that anyone might have about latencies to our servers, even a non-customer playing on a server he or she has no affiliation with. Please make sure that your players include their IP addresses as well as copies of their traces to the server when they email us.

thanks, sounds good.

one last question, if my due date is on the 7th, can I prepay half a month on the 21st to have my renewal date changed to the 21st?
