Tonight something really weird happened on the server. The map changed and suddenly all of us couldn't connect to the server. Everyone was getting this error:
Apparently people can connect to other servers but not ours. I don't know why this happened. I restarted the server and a few of us got in but others still had problems.
Why did this happen on our server?
Can this be fixed?
Just want to clarify, this is not the normal "error" where you can click "log on as a different user", then just log back in and be fine. This is apparently only with our server. Everyone I was playing with said they had no trouble connecting to other servers.
Look at this page of Steam support. This has fixed the issue for everyone I've given this page to. Most people just shutdown steam and delete clientregistry.blob, which fixes most steam client issues. This issue has to do with the fact that you initially had the issue on your game server with Valve's authentication server, which is why you would only get it on your game server for now. At every map change, the client itself tries to reconnect to Valve's auth servers. Since it could not at that time and everyone who happened to be connected to your gameserver, suffered from the connection loss to the auth servers for your gameserver. We have no control over Valve's authentication servers so this is not something that can be "fixed" on our end.

From STEAM page wrote:I receive the error: 'You have been disconnected from the server. Reason: Error verifying STEAM UserID ticket' when I try to connect to a server.
That is the problem. No one is having trouble with any other server except with our server and we have already tried the same fix you posted and still have problems.
This is not on our side. No one can connect to our server but they can connect to any other server. So this is not a STEAM issue with each individual.
In fact, I restarted a couple times and about 5 out of 13 people were able to reconnect but the others still had a problem. I never deleted anything and I was able to reconnect. A clanmate follow the instructions in the link and still can't connect.
Can a "server repair" help this situation. We are beginning the weekend and there are a lot of people looking forward to playing tonight.
For the record, I have not made any changes in a while. I have not added any maps in at least a week and no new plugins. This just happened last night for the first time.
I forgot to reiterate that we feel this can't only be our accounts. That seems pretty far-fetched that suddenly everyone has to go delete files to be able to only play on our server and they don't have to for others servers.
It could also be a problem with a particular Valve authentication server. To look into it in more depth, we'd need you to email us or contact us in Live chat.

Ok, thank you.
Apparently some people played today so maybe it fixed itself but I will jump on live chat when I get home from work to be sure. Roughly 7pm PST.
