I have a DFW NFO server. I have been extremely happy with it...However my clan prefers Chicago based servers. Per my advice I advised them to go NFO Chicago. My Ping has been rather High on that server. Seems that I am being routed via Houston>>Atlanta>> Chicago. Routing to ATL is killing my ping. Who is responsible for this?? I have heard two stories.. once it leaves my ISP in Houston it is responsible for the destination to get me there via the fastest routes. I have no idea what to do. I shouldnt ping 80-100 to Chicago from Dallas. any info would be great.
Yes, we'll need to see the trace from your client to the server and know your IP address so that we can run some tests on the outbound path. It'd be best to email us these.
