The FTP directory doesn't have the default.cfg file which is installed with FEAR, and is what is normally used to tell the game to recognize your custom content. I did notice there is a custom folder, but there is no additional content folder. Do I just create it myself and place my custom files in there? And if so, how do I tell the game to recognize these files for gameplay usage? Does NF have their own file that acts as default.cfg?
Also, I'm having trouble changing the name of my server. Could someone detail thoroughly how I change the server name within the configuration file?

Re: FEAR Custom Content Help
Do you mean Default.archconfig? If so, it is included with each server, but it's in the folder one up from what we give renters access to by default. Please email us so that we can give you the appropriate access to change this file.discolored wrote:The FTP directory doesn't have the default.cfg file which is installed with FEAR, and is what is normally used to tell the game to recognize your custom content.
The serverreadme.txt file would be the best source of answers for these types of questions, actually. It's in that one-up folder as wellI did notice there is a custom folder, but there is no additional content folder. Do I just create it myself and place my custom files in there? Simply shut down your server and then change the "SessionName" option in ServerOptions/ServerOptions.txt, then start the server again. Make sure that you don't choose something too long (something like 32 characters is the max) or with unusual characters. Also, I'm having trouble changing the name of my server. OK, I figured it all out except custom content. I was able to get my custom content to download for clients joining the server, but just before the server fully loads it freezes. Here is what I did:
Inside custom there are no folders named 'AdditionalContent', 'DownloadedContent' and 'CompressedArch', like on my computer, so I created a folder called "AdditionalContent'. I placed all my custom content (Insignias, a grenade skin and a custom sound) into 'AdditionalContent', and in Default.archcfg I added the path to each of the custom files. The 'fearconfig' folder is located in the same folder as 'Default.archcfg', so I added "\fearconfig\custom\additionalcontent\customfile.Arch00.
Now, should this have worked? When connecting, the files download quick and simple, but when the map loads it freezes when it comes to the last inch on the load bar.
I have double checked my custom Arch files and they are working fine on my home server. I also tried just placing the custom files in the same folder as where 'Default.archcfg' is and simply added the filenames to the Default.archcfg's list, but the same thing happens; they download, but the game just freezes when the load bar is near the end.
Any suggestions? Thanks.
