Contacting gameserver via web language

Post by Bryce »

I saw in the NFo servers control panel you can look at the status of your server. For a new public server I'm going to be starting soon I want to show some server stats on the website.

Eg.
Name: Purple Cobras
Server address: purple.nuclearfallout.net:27015
Server IP: 216.52.143.194:27015
Game: Counter-strike
Current map: de_dust2
Current players: 0 / 10
Currently locked? Yes

I was wondering if anyone could point me to a tutorial or plugin that does this. Since the extention on the control panel is a .pl, is it coded in Perl? I've searched googel with no success. I also checked php.net and I only found out how to connect to http servers.

Our query script is indeed written in Perl, and coded in-house. We do have an interface to it, though. We describe it here: http://rentals.nuclearfallout.net/rent. ... hosting#12

It just prints what the server tells it ;). But I can try to check into it and see if changing the font or character set would help, if you email us the next time you see it.
