The UT3 beta demo was released today and unfortunately it's a bit of a disappointment.
After quite a long time spent testing and trying to get UT3 to work properly, we finally got up a basic test server in LA with the name "nfo". We were optimistic we could go from there and add some sort of support for this game, even if it were extremely basic (and it would have to be, since the UT3 beta demo does not allow much customization) and required control panel changes (as it would, since the current release needs for everything to be specified on the command line, and our control panel is based around editing configuration files).
Alas, as we continued to investigate, we ran into a roadblock we weren't expecting: The game does not properly support multihoming. This has stopped us dead in our tracks, because our game servers are always put on their own IP addresses, and it is actually a requirement of our system.
So, we're left waiting for a new version of the UT3 beta demo that supports multihoming. Until then, regrettably, we cannot offer UT3 beta demo servers.
I should also note that most other hosts will not be offering them yet either -- not just because of the lack of multihoming, but also because the game doesn't allow you to choose which ports it uses, requires that a shared ini file be used for all servers run under the same user, and cannot be run on Windows 2003, Windows XP x64, or Linux, among other factors. Most of the servers that show in the in-game browser at present are "listen" servers and run poorly.
