Going back to Nfo need tips.

Post by d!nk »

I'm planning to rent another nfo server, the last one I got didn't go very well. Population was zero :( and no one even came even though i had friends in the server. Snake visited my server and i'm sure he knows that it was really deserted. Could it be the ip?? This server was a 24 counter-strike server. Any pointers that can help me make my next server populated?

Well ive been doing some research around. But im about to buy an NFO server tommorow night for my b-day. I know for a fact that LA servers fill up pretty fast. Also getting stuff like WC3 and superhero mod will attract people. But places I hear that are popular are LA and Illinios. But you should get a Value LA 25 slot hyperaccelerated for only 85 dollars.

Whether a server fills up depends on a number of factors. The game type is a big one -- popular games often have so many servers that the in-game listing takes a long time to retrieve and query them all, which makes its listing order come into play and this can really affect traffic levels (and different games have different ways of handling that; Source, for instance, tries to go by similarity to the client IP). Plugins and location can also make a difference, as Uranus mentioned. Having good performance and low pings matter, and we help quite a bit with those. A regular player base and good admins are important for any game, of course.

Well I started my server with NFo nearly 2 years ago and its been full since day one everyday, all you need is for the first 1-2 weeks to get bunch of people in there (friends) start building up a community and regulars, I am sure they will have interest towards your server and eventually build a community off that.
