How do I reduce choke?

Choke occurs when your game client cannot keep up with the amount of data it needs to send to or receive from the server.

This usually happens when your network connection cannot handle your current rate settings, or when commands like "cl_updaterate" or "cl_cmdrate" are set too high or too low.
