Restrictions?

Post by Spartan »

what kind of restrictions do you guys have for CS:S servers?

Because i want to run a ZH server 22 player slots, 100 tick, with around 10-15 bots. I have checked around and the asking price for that is around $96.80.

What would you guys be asking?

Would there be an increase in price for having Bots or is that already built into your base price?

How great of a difference in price would changing the 100 tick to 66 tick?

What how much are player slots?

another couple questions.

If i was to buy a dedicated server. How many 22 player slot, 100 tick server's could it handle?

Can you give me an example of what it would be able to handle without too much stress being put on the machine/servers?

how much would it cost?

I'll try to field your question to my best ability...

100tic --> 66tic does not change price. A 22 slot CS:S server in Los Angeles (Premium) would cost $65.99 and that would include a free 10-slot Ventrilo server. Through NFo's control panel, you could change Ticrate from 100->66 if you desired for free or vice versa.

From their TOS:
+ Run any sort of bot or artificial player, with the exception of bots based on Olo's Fakefull code that sit as spectators and do not interact with players on the server, and the exception of up to four standard bots at a time in CS:Source and Condition Zero servers
So 4 bot maximum; not sure if they would budge on that (perhaps attempt a bribe hehe :-)).

As per dedicated servers go, their standard config (quad core 2.66Ghz + 4GB RAM) is quite the powerhouse... I'd venture to guess at least 3 servers (full), but that's an 'educated guess.' For $249, that's one heck of a nice Dedicated server, too! Other companies have that similar config for $100+ MORE per month actually; pretty good if you ask me...

If you do end up buying a server and can fill in a 'referrer' field, please enter "bnd" without the quotes; Thanks! (it'll give me a couple extra slots for referring/helping)

Sleeper's basically on the mark here. We don't technically allow more than four bots per server, so you'd have to ask us if you need to run more than that. There's no price difference between 100 and 66 tick. The cost of slots varies from game to game and location to location and you'd have to visit our order form at https://www.nfoservers.com/order.php to check against your needs. Our standard dedicated server would be able to run at least one server per core, and perhaps more depending on the CPU, memory, and bandwidth requirements of your exact server configurations.

Aye, our InterNAP bandwidth is pretty much unbeatable (in a number of ways), but unfortunately it does have a cost associated with it. We price servers very competitively and we don't really make a profit, but many hosts on cheaper and lower-quality bandwidth will be able to offer a lower price and still make a profit.

I hope to see you again soon if the other host doesn't work out!

That is why I really need a good VPS or something in San Jose to host those servers on your network, internap is scarce in San Jose it looks like.
