FTP Windows 2003
Hello, I'd like to get some help with creating FTP so I can upload files through FTP client instead of doing it through remote desktop, ect.
Re: FTP Windows 2003
If you're running on Windows, I would recommend installing the FileZilla Server, according to the directions here: http://wiki.filezilla-project.org/FileZilla_FTP_Server
Or, if you're running on Gentoo, I'd recommend using vsftpd ("emerge vsftpd" and then edit its configuration file at /etc/vsftpd/vsftpd.conf).

Re: FTP Windows 2003
Thanks, well it seems I always find the answer to my questions before I get the help need from others.
Anyway, i think it would be a waste to create a another thread for a simple thing like this but how would I go about limiting bandwidth to applications ran on windows 2003?

Re: FTP Windows 2003
I'm not familiar with an easy way of doing that at the OS level on Windows 2003, but you can often use the bandwidth controls in applications to achieve this. All decent FTP servers have the option to limit upload speeds, for instance; there are plugins that can restrict the upload speed for Apache; IIS has built-in bandwidth throttling; and most game servers support per-client rate adjustment.
Re: FTP Windows 2003
John, what IP am I supposed to use?
127.0.0.1?
I tried our server IP and that didn't work, only the 127.0.0.1 worked to get me logged on.
