Hi,
I've setup services before in Windows Server 2003 (SRVANY).
Does anyone know if this would be the way for W2K8 also? I haven't been successful in what to search for on this.
Basically, I want to know how to setup any console application to be service instead, ie., SRCDS, etc.
Thanks for any links, recommendations.

Re: Setting up Services for W2K8
I know that FireDaemon works on Win2k8, but I'll have to do some research on srvany (if it doesn't work, though, I suspect that we can find another free service configuration utility that will).
Are you on Win2k8 or Win2k8 R2?

Quite being so fast...

I forgot to mention, it was the Reskit for Win2K3.
Right now..using R2.
I won't have problem changing to W2K3 though. I guess I just find it surprising not finding info on this...or I just don't know what to search for.
Thanks

It sounds like using the win2k3 reskit version might also work on Win2k8, and likely R2 as well:

I'll have to do a bit more research to know for certain, though.
