SRCDS.exe crashing after update.

Post by NathanMc »

Hey guys, after the orangebox update today I successfully updated my server following the guidelines in the KB here. When I launch the server and join it (or anyone else for that matter) and attempt to join a team the server compeletly crashes and shuts down. Have I done something wrong or is this caused by the newest update? I haven't found any errors in my logs either...

btw, I run a VDS with Win2k8 installed..

That sounds like a plugin problem. I know that Mani and ES don't like the new version, and it's possible that some versions of Sourcemod don't like it, either. I'd recommend disabling your plugins until you find the culprit, then looking for updates at the author's website.

Thanks for the quick reply man, is there a way to disable mani (that's the only addon I run) without removing all the files? Maybe rename the .dll or .vdf?

Yes, if you rename its .vdf file to something with a different extension then Metamod will not load it. We usually recommend changing the extension to ".vdf.disabled".

Well I found the fix, it was indeed manimod..for anyone else just update your gametypes.txt file (there's a tool on the mani site for it) and it will fix this issue. Thanks again for the help!
