New to dedicated server.
Im 18 years old and I have been playing gmod for about 2-3 years now.I have always wanted to get a dedicated server but never had the money. Now that I have the money im interested in getting a server,But I don't know the process. Can someone describe the process of how it goes. Do I have to list all the addons I want. Can I change the map and mode from my pc or do I have to tell them. And is TeamSpeak 3 and Murmur/mumble server the same thing,(Do I need these to talk in game?) Please/thanks
Re: New to dedicated server.
The first step would be to start a free trial for a server through this page: https://www.nfoservers.com/order.php. After that, you'll have an up-to-date Gmod server with full FTP access that you can start uploading addons to.yaitsbilly wrote:Im 18 years old and I have been playing gmod for about 2-3 years now.I have always wanted to get a dedicated server but never had the money. You'll be able to upload addons through the FTP. If you have an addon that needs to be retrieved through SVN because it would take you a long time to upload, drop me a line and I can handle it for you myself.Do I have to list all the addons I want.
You can change the map and mode via rcon or configuration files. This is done through the control panel. Can I change the map and mode from my pc or do I have to tell them.
TS3 and Murmur/mumble are optional voice server options that run outside of the game. The game itself also offers VOIP, so you don't strictly need these. And is TeamSpeak 3 and Murmur/mumble server the same thing,(Do I need these to talk in game?) Please/thanks
