Anyone running ArmA 2 or ArmA 2 OA on a VDS? I am looking at hosting 64 slots and wondering if the 2 HTcore VDS is sufficient. I know on my full machine with win2k8 I had it locked on 1 non-HTcore and it was running at 80%
Yes, I can actually fill up 64slots on weekends so it needs to be sufficient.

Re: ArmA 2 on VDS
We have a couple of renters who have run large Arma2 servers successfully on our VDSes, but I don't know how large they were specifically, so it's tough for me to say exactly how yours would perform. But, if it was running well on a standalone machine, I would expect it to run well on a VDS here, as ours are close to the performance of a full one.
If the game is single-threaded, a 2-core should be enough. The extra core would mostly benefit you by being able to take some of the load from the OS and any management applications that you're running.

I will just bite the bullet and see how it does. I have used yours before for CS:S and DOD:S and loved it.

Please do let me know how it goes. If you have any performance concerns, especially -- the support system would be best for those, so that I can look at your server specifically.

So far so good. I have yet to have more than 11 people connected though.

If you are running a linux distro, type 'top' in and it will tell you CPU usage, so you can have an idea of what it sits at, at a certain amount of clients connected. For CS 1.6 for instance, with my 20 slot running at 950+ FPS, it only sits at 15-20% full, and with only a single core. You'll be amazed at how fast these cores are.
