Esx
Hey John, just curious as to why you choose Xen, over ESX. Personally, we run ESX on our two servers at our business. I've been playing around with it and really enjoy ESX. Is there any huge difference between Xen and ESX? I was busy creating virtual servers and playing with settings, and I noticed on ESX, you can determine how many cores a VDS can have, but also how much of a core in mhz. Obviously there's tons of options on ESX, but was curious as to why you choose Xen.

Re: Esx
VMware ESX did not have as high performance as our tweaked Xen edition, in our testing. It also does not support HPET, which is important for virtualizing Windows. And, it's not quite as easy to script around.

Re: Esx
What would the easiest virtulization software be? I know even certain ones need certain hardware as well. I'm just curious for testing purposes as to what would be the easiest to install and wouldn't be too picky about hardware.

Re: Esx
If you're running something made in the last few years, it should have the virtualization extensions that any of these would want to have. If you're not, then VirtualBox is a good choice.
