Ive searched around on the forums and haven't seen anything on this. Say I want to run 2, maybe 3 BFBC2 game servers on a managed VDS, how well would a single core option handle if the servers were running 32 players each? If I went with the two core option, would running these servers and possibly a 32 player ARMA 2 server be feasible?
I am most likely going to test it anyway, I was just checking to see what kind of performance I should expect.

Re: Bad Company 2 On Managed VDS
For managed servers, we require that a 2+ HT core VDS be used. I would expect for you to normally be able to run a couple of large slot servers on this configuration, but more servers, or yet more intensive servers such as ArmA2, might require an upgrade.
Our VDSes have the capability of being upgraded or downgraded at any time.

Re: Bad Company 2 On Managed VDS
Theoretically though on the dual core, I could run 3-4 game servers (Unless it is Arma 2) with 32 players and be alright? If so, you definately have a customer today. And recommended would be Arma 2 solo on the dual core, or could I potentially run a BFBC2 server as well? I apologize for the repetitive questions.
Re: Bad Company 2 On Managed VDS
Our listed estimate for a 2-HT-core VDS is 2-6. Full, intensive 32-slot servers will typically correspond to the low end of that range, and smaller/less-intensive servers will typically correspond to the high end of that range.SlicenDice wrote:Theoretically though on the dual core, I could run 3-4 game servers (Unless it is Arma 2) with 32 players and be alright
I really would recommend testing things out, because it's difficult to predict this in advance, though. We have a free 2-day trial and you can upgrade/downgrade at any time, if necessary.
ArmA2 usage is highly variable because of the options for AI and other configuration variables. Among the game types that we host, it and Garrysmod are the most difficult to predict in terms of CPU usage. Because of this, it's difficult for me to give you a good estimate. You may be OK with mixing it in with other servers on a 2 HT core config, or you might have to giving it 1-2 cores of its own.If so, you definately have a customer today.
