Unable to view server in server list (cs 1.6)

I want to set up a public CS 1.6 Server.

I had NFO install the server files.

I would think that by just opening up the HLDS, renaming server, and clicking start, that i would be able to view the server in the server list by refreshing my list. (narrowing down but map ect..)

But its not one there at all.
Gametracker.com and Gametiger.net cant even find it by name or IP.

But if i add the server by to my favorites, i can join and my friends can join by me giving out IP.

I was thinking that it was possible that the server isnt up to date so i was trying to update the server but im completely lost here.

Any help would be awesome.

Matt if you can send in a support request, we would be able to help you out a lot faster, and acutally see if a problem exist's.

UPDATE:

It is only happening with CS 1.6

Source works fine.

mattmoo, to make sure that your server is up to date, use these commands while the server is stopped:

hldsupdatetool -game cstrike -command update -dir hldsbase -verify_all -beta hlbeta
