Well, I managed to run xamp with apache, php, mysql all fine without any problems through scheduled tasks, but I've been trying to run a batch file for quake 3 server and it doesn't want to start when the vds starts. I have to manually click on the batch file or, right click on the schedule task and click "Run" which starts it without a problem... So, I'm not sure why it's not starting on its own when the server starts up. Any suggestions or help would be appreciated. I'm planning on running a few other game servers soon but if it doesn't work with quake, i would hate to set the others with the same problems.
Granted once everything is set and done, I won't have to log into the server any more and I guess I could just leave them running and stay logged in the server. But I want to conserve as much memory as possible.

Re: Scheduled tasks on Virtual Dedicated Server...
I would recommend running the game servers as services with a program such as FireDaemon. If you'd rather not do that, then adding them to your Startup folder and setting Windows to auto-log-in when it boots might be the simplest solution for you.
Re: Scheduled tasks on Virtual Dedicated Server...
Hmm never tried that before. Fire daemon easy to use etc? Free? I'll search online and see what I find.

FireDaemon is pretty easy to use and there are guides on the FD website for setting up game servers with it, which is nice. It's a very useful program.
