File decompression for webhosting

Post by thebigd »

I found a post from 2005 where you stated that there was no way to upload a compressed file and have it decompressed server-side. Is that still the case? I know I can upload all the individual files, but the time difference is immense. I could have uploaded my Joomla installation in 5 minutes instead of an hour. Please consider this feature. Thanks.

You can do this yourself, actually, by uploading the compressed file and then typing the appropriate commands in SSH to decompress it. This no longer requires our help.
