Remote Administration via QTracker "Invalid Password"

Post by Knappy »

I use QTracker to maintain, check & administer my servers from time to time. I changed to rcon password in my server.cfg and restarted the VPS. When I attempt to 'remotely administer' through QTracker it returns the error "Password Invalid."

Is there something I'm missing with the Control Panel or does an admin need to change the password for remote administration?

To be sure, is QTracker only administering the game server itself? If so, only your game server settings would be a facter and maybe FTP access to the server also. VDS access wouldn't matter in this case.

All QTracker does is open a console connection to the server ip. From there I can (usually) use rcon & sourcemod commands.

That should just need the rcon password, then. Have you tested the rcon password by joining the server directly and testing it? Also, make sure that there wasn't some sort of copy/paste error and that the rcon password is not using any characters that QTracker does not support, such as @ or ! maybe.
