Okay here's my dilemma,
I'm considering running a server for NASCAR Racing 2003 on my current VDS. I currently have Gentoo installed and it's running flawlessly. It's pretty much tuned to the point where my Minecraft server and my SRCDS servers can run together in harmony.
I have room to spare for this game, but the problem is, its server runs windows only. I tried looking around the googles to see if there was a linux command line version somebody may have hacked together, but it's just not going to happen. The problem is, is that the server, even though a different executable, still launches the game to run the server.
The only solutions I can think of are trying to work it into WINE or install Windows. I'm concerned about either option because I don't want X and WINE wasting resources to run a server like that, and I love the low overhead of gentoo over Windows by far.
It's not vital that I have this server operational and I won't lose sleep over not having it, just something extra I was thinking of adding. Figured I'd post something here to bounce ideas off people, see if I'm over looking something that may work.

I haven't experimented with Wine myself, but it's worth a shot. You can always set its priority to something very low in order to minimize its interference with your other services.

There are also alternatives based on WINE that I have read about in the past, some of them are specifically intended for running games that may have less overhead than standard WINE.
Other than that, I don't know of a way to make this happen without some sort of emulation, be it something like WINE or a virtual environment to run Windows in.
