VPS reg

Post by Detox »

After I switched my server over to NFO I noticed shot reg is somewhat slacking. I use to run it on a Xeon 3220 with Debian/lenny 64bit at about 60-70% load at 500fps. Now its on my linux managed 2 core NFO VPS that is bellow 10% load at 1000fps. I have Metamod, Sourcemod, and CSS:DM (same plugins as old server) installed all threw the auto installer. Is there anything I can do to increase the reg? I have never had this problem with NFO or any other host before.

The sensation of poor registration occurs when gameplay feels different. Sometimes this is due to a real, measurable factor, and sometimes it is in the mind.

Are you seeing higher-than-normal latencies, packet loss, or choke? Are you running all the same settings that you used before on your other servers?

We talk extensively about this here: http://www.nfoservers.com/forums/viewto ... =25&t=3930

I almost never see and choke or loss connected to aether server, but I do notice that on the old server (located in dallas) my ping stays consistent at about 60. On NFO (located in chicago) my ping will fluctuates a lot more I have seen it as low as 5 and has high as 30. I don't know if this is what causing it or not, will read that thread and see if it helps.

Ping fluctuations aren't good. Please shoot us a copy of your MTR to the server in a support request, and we can take a closer look at that: http://www.nfoservers.com/forums/viewforum.php?f=25
