If there is a game update will my game server stop itself and do an update then reboot?

I also want to know this since a tf2 update came out 40 minutes ago and nothing has happened.
Will we ever get access to run the update from our control panel at our convenience? I know other server companies include it in their CPs.

Yes, Orangebox game updates occur automatically and immediately here. Sometimes, an update takes awhile to roll out because Valve's servers are slow/overloaded. That typically occurs with very large updates that apply to the most popular games, and it's what has happened tonight.
As soon as the update has finished being rolled out, an event will be posted to your "Events log" page. If you have the box checked to have emails sent out for events, you will also be emailed.
A control panel control would only slow this down by requiring manual interaction by the customer. I've always found it a little funny that other companies do this instead of just handing each required update immediately.
