Bandwidth Usage?

Post by JmactheAttack »

Question for all of the renters out there:

What is your experience with bandwidth usage on an average game server? Would 2TB be plenty for 4~ 32 player servers that have an average amount of usage?

Yes, I know my question is very vague, but this is an issue that I have pondered for a while and I'm trying to get a little bit of understanding on how much a typical server might run on the b/w side of things. I've run servers in the past and unfortunately have not been able to track their usage since they've only been single game servers and not a vps-type server.

I do not have any answer for you but 2TB of BW is more then plenty to run many game servers at capacity.
@Kraze^NFo> Juski has a very valid point
@Juski> Got my new signature, thanks!
@Kraze^NFo> Out of context!
@Juski> Doesn't matter!
@Juski> You said I had a valid point! You can't take it back now! It's out there!

500 GB from a single game server would definitely be on the high end. 2 TB for four 32-slot servers should be adequate.

You can always add more bandwidth to your package a few days from the end of your month, if you are watching it and it looks like you will go over.
