Thanks for all the helpful info Edge.

Re: Running Brink on an unmanaged machine
Trying my best
. What a mess.

Re: Running Brink on an unmanaged machine
Well I tried all that, and this is the closest I have come to getting a running server. It ran for about a whole 1.3 secs.
Then it gives me this "Game Map Shutdown" and just hangs there.
Very frustrating! This game is getting ripped to shreds in the Steam forums.

For some reason I cant edit my own posts.
Wanted to say that the IP bind does not seem to work. I bound it to 64.94.238.94 and it still comes up on 64.94.238.90

Re: Running Brink on an unmanaged machine
I haven't seen the "Game Map Shutdown" one before, hmm.
That's correct, IP binding is only partially working right now. You may be best off with leaving it out and choosing different ports for your servers.

Re: Running Brink on an unmanaged machine
Yea thats what I am doing, different ports. Got the servers running, however one is running as a custom setup, cant figure out why. For some reason any servers listed as "Custom" I cant connect to.
Also, I have my server set to 16 players, but as soon as someone connects to them, they change to 8 slots. Any ideas? Could it be a bot issue?

Re: Running Brink on an unmanaged machine
I believe it changes to 8 players when certain maps or modes are run. That's something that I need to investigate further.
Re: Running Brink on an unmanaged machine
Ok, figured one out! YAY me!!!
Do NOT add an IP to the command line. If you add an IP you will not be able to connect to the server. I have 4 servers up, and couldnt connect to the one. It kept being listed as a "Custom" server. I had an IP in the command line. Removed the IP and the "Custom" thing went away, and I can now connect to it.
I have not been able to connect to any server that are listed as "Custom" though. I believe it is because it is trying to bind to an IP, and can not.
However, I still have not figured out why my servers keep going to 8 slots.

Re: Running Brink on an unmanaged machine
First one is running well.
I installed a second instance on the same box. No matter what I put in +set net_ip, the second instance tries to run on the same IP as the first. If I change the ports, they both run and show up in the browser but the server using the non default ports is unable to be connected to.
Any luck with running multiple instances on the same box with multiple IP's using the default port settings of 27015 and 27016?
FYI - It appears that I have no control over the IP's. Looks like it is using the first available ip that is broadcasting.
