DDoS on VDS
I've just got my server up 2 days ago, no bans or anything, but it seems someone hates us already for some reason. I just got a ddos over the past day and it's used up all my bandwidth. Support has told me I can't stop anything. So pretty much I'm fucked with a useless server for 27 more days I guess.
Re: DDoS on VDS
and the server wont turn off. great. now its going over the limit
Re: DDoS on VDS
Your support request is assigned to me and I am handling it with you by trying to have InterNAP filter it. You should continue to correspond in the support request.
I write about how (D)DoSes are handled here: http://www.nfoservers.com/forums/viewto ... =25&t=4931
The system here automatically detects when a VDS is turned off and turns it back on (as we often see ordinary reboots lead to VDSes turning off, due to the way that OSes and Xen interact). If you turn off your VDS, we'll still be hit with the DDoS, but it will also cause problems for other customers until the VDS is turned back on.

Re: DDoS on VDS
You shouldn't be screwed over something you had no control over.
Seems someone likes attacking the Dallas location, they must think Sony has server at that data center.

Re: DDoS on VDS
His VDS is in Chicago
. It was a fairly small attack that didn't affect the location overall.
