the banner that pops up after I join my server the bigg picture with gordon freeman and stuff on it?

If this is a HL1/Orangebox server, the MOTD can be changed by editing the motd.txt file. You can find this file in the mod folder of your FTP (such as in "cstrike", if you have a CS 1.6 or CS:S server).
