Server issues

Post by Slamordain »

c.s 1.6

Hello, I'm slamordain from Zombies On Drugs, and I have a question. we keep getting this error from two of our servers.

:[2011-07-01 22:57:32] Assault: restarting. Reason. Fatal error - couldn't allocate dedicated server IP port

I don't understand what that means... :(

It sounds like the IP and port combination your server is trying to use is already in use. Is this for a CS 1.6 server running on one of our unmanaged VDS's or unmanaged full machines?

If the game server has its own control panel, it would be a managed server. If you have access to the OS on the machine, it would be unmanaged.

Which one it is (managed or unmanaged) can make a large difference on what the problem may be and how to address it. Is this problem dropping players, or does it just show the message in the console?

We have control over our box, but its not dropping players, It drops the entire server but our other two server have not been affected. Do you have a better way for me to talk to you instead of doing it on the forums?

I'm not familiar with the hlsm launcher. What happens when you run these servers standalone?

Software related questions are limited to the forums here, as other methods are too limited and don't allow others to help.

If you aren't sure how to run a server manually, try following the CS 1.6 guides we have here that match the OS you are using: http://www.nfoservers.com/forums/viewforum.php?f=67

Forums are definitely the best place to talk about a software issue like this.

Since this is an unmanaged machine question, I'll pop this thread over to that forum.
