Initialize error while trying to install Procon on VDS

Post by IAF Lostcom »

I read through this post already:

http://www.nfoservers.com/forums/viewto ... vds#p21697

I am currently running Windows Server 2003 I believe on our VDS. Is there a work around or another way to get this Procon to install without changing the OS?

Do you have .NET 3.5 and .NET 4.0 installed? It may require one of these.

Hi John,

I installed .Net 4 but now I get a new error.

"Unable to find a version of the runtime to run this application"

This popup window was labeled "ProCon.exe - .Net Framework Initialization Error"

Can you think of anything else that might help?

Anyone got an idea?

Thanks!

Did you also install .NET 3.5? Having the latest version of .NET doesn't take the place of older versions, so if a program needs a specific version of .NET, that version also needs to be installed.

Make sure to also run Windows Update after installing all the .NET versions you might need. Usually it has to apply further updates to bring them up to speed.
