wOw nEw news for me v1.6 whats the scoop

Hello all..

Im just posting this up to get some info from you guys regarding something i read on a thread tonight. It seems that the thread read, WE are going to make the switch from v1.5 to the NEW v1.6 BUT it said something about "STEAM".... ??? hmmm Steam, whats this... it also said where going to need a NEW wOn Id.... iz this correct, and if so what are WE all to do since this new system will take over in a matter of a FEW weeks.

Also what happends to all the servers we have... do they become upgraded automaticaly to function with this new system? OR am i just in a panic at the moment and i dont have to worry. Id like to get some light on this subject way ahead of time so i can pass on the info to my network of friends.

okay another note...
I need some help. WE have 2 servers, once private and one public... well on our private server the map keeps ending and changing after about every 15-20minutes. I have tried to change it manually thru the console screen with this: amx_rcon (space) sv_roundtime 45
but it seems not to work. Ive also gone thru the acutal amx menu options and changes it to the 45 minutes of map time. Its not working... whats the deaL?

Plz Help with both questions, and on the first question if you could give me some actual info that would be great... THANKS GUYS!

btw...did I tell you, I love steam? I love chatting ingame when im dead, if im dead to friends in game, different server, or just outside a game.

heck they can be in a totally different game and still be chatting.

also like how ALL the options and shit are inside when you hit console

only thing I want to try to do is not have the console part pop up everytime I hit the ~ button hmmmm

I guess my friend Pat talked to one of the admins here and they said it would be ready whenever it's needed, so I'd relax about the 1.6 thing.

It won't even let me on. Half-Life starts to load and then freezes. After waiting forever just for it to do "everything for me," it doesn't even work. Fantastic.

Have you entered your cd key yet?

sometimes multiple programs of hl.exe get ran...ctrl alt del to remove

Yeah, for some reason valve doesnt close out right. Its hella fun and great when acura messages you every five minutes (lol); but for some reason it opens up more than one hl.exe. Plus it has trouble closing out. Its odd. Aww who cares though. Steam is great and the fun factor of 1.6 is as well. Graphics and all.

Ok well it all sounds to be just great for the exception of a few little bugs with the install i hear, but other than that its great...

but what is a noob like me to do... maybe you guys should post a thread on what where and why to install the NEW steam. I downloaded the program but to be honest it doesnt do a damm thing when i try to install, it just stits there forever... hmmm maybe i DL it to the wrong Program file, or am i supposed to DL it to my Sierra file? Ooh Im soooo confused *hehe*
