Server Not Filling? Try THIS!! (BF3)

I changed the server name, then the GUID.

I've had 100% success doing this. Though sometimes I wait for about 45 minutes, it will fill. I'm not gonna guarantee that it will work for you, but here's what I did.

Set your server to QuickMatch settings.
Turn off idle kick timer (so you can alt-tab and not be kicked once its going)
Stop your server, Start your server, then Join your server once it's up.
Alt-tab into your server control page
run vars.maxPlayers "8" in your server rcon control (procon or NFo CP)
Allow 8 people to join to get the game started
run vars.maxPlayers "10" in your server rcon
Let a few people join.

Keep repeating that until your at max. I usually go up in 2's from 8-16 players. Then I increase by 4, once I hit 20 players I set it to 32 (which is my max)

Got my servers going twice today. Had em going 32/32 (both) then they crashed so I had to try it again, and it worked again for me. So far 4/4. Not bad I say.

All I did was delete startup.txt, change the server name and then request a GUID reset. When they did that, and I assume it restarts the server, I joined the server and within 5 seconds 2 other people joined.

I had them change my GUID and that gave me jack! Things are most definitely worse off now that I had them change it. I've been trying so many variations such as changing from Conquest Large to Conquest Small and still nothing at all is happening.

This worked! Until I tried this, I had never had more than 9 people in my server. Now, it's almost full. Thanks!

Weird! That kinda worked for me. It was myself and another one of my guys in with 8 as max players and it filled to 8 really quickly but after that it didn't really pick up any players except for more of our own.

Glad it's somewhat working for you guys. We all have to share our tricks of the trade with each other so we can help get each others servers populated!

Anyone running R7 already by chance? Need to know how often crashes are occurring. I haven't updated yet because the server has been full, I'll probably update tonight if it empties out.

Mine is on R7 but I haven't got to get it full to 64 yet.

My advice, and what we did to get running, is make sure you're QM ready cfg wise. Then change your GUID every 3-5 hours until you notice your server is full. Keep that GUID and don't change anything, even if your server is empty again. Sometimes our servers will drop to nothing, but within a few hours are full again. From our experience GUID is everything and server name means nothing. We also don't run hardcore on our public servers.

Great... Now the backend went down and now that it is back up, my server doesn't come up not even for a name filter. I tried restarting and that did nothing. Anyone else in this same boat? Hopefully it'll just show up again soon here...

It says all my servers are empty in the control panel, but one of my servers says it's full on battlelog.
