BF3 Servers and VDS

Hello everyone. I had a 32slot and 16slot dedicated servers for BF3 Ranked. I was happy but I was paying so much at other hosts I moved to NFOservers.com. Great switch IMP. Anyways. I wanted more control so with the free 2 day setup NFOservers.com offers I decided to try a VDS instead. Giving me unlimited options on what servers to run. If my clan does not want the setup I just erase and make a new server. I like that Idea. Now to the questions...

I currently am running
32 slot conquest
24 slot dm
16 slot squad dm and squad rush server
16 slot match server 1
16 slot match server 2 hc

I anticipate the 32 slot being almost full regularly, like 29/30 often if not full. The dm 20/24 and the squad dm either being full or empty depending on people. The 32 slots dedicated to match servers will be used on and off for about 45 at a time.

Is 2000 gb bandwidth and 2core enough to do all of this? Should I up to 3core and lower my number of slots and servers? Or should I drop the dm and and drop my reserved bf3 slots from 128 to 72 and run only 32 slot mix and (1) 16 slot squad maps and (2) 16slot match servers.

Also... I found out i cant host a website from my vds or run a vent server higher then 8. Lame. Just saying. I was hoping to run all my shit from one machine.

Also this is my very first VDS is there a way to connect to it like remote desktop and see the computer?

Can I run my own procon off this server?

For that many servers of those sizes, you will likely need a 3 or 4 HT core VDS. I recommend that you experiment and see how the lower configuration does, then upgrade if necessary. The bandwidth amount in whatever package you chose is likely to be sufficient.

You won't be able to run anything but game servers off a managed gameserver-only VDS, and you won't be able to connect to it with remote desktop. We talk more about how these work here: http://www.nfoservers.com/forums/viewforum.php?f=51

You would need managed vds for your bf3 servers, and unmanaged for procon or other applications with remote desktop.

We run both. Managed 2-core for a 32 slot bf3 for now and a 1-core unmanaged for TS3, procon and a minecraft & L4D2 server for the kids, as well as a Deer Hunt 2005, but I leave it off until we want to play on it. The 1 core is probably at it's limit, but it's holding up.

Also I cannot run my own 50slot vent can I? Do to ventrilo regulations right. So id have to run ts3 on my on unmanaged.

Correct. Ventrilo only allows 10 slots without licence I think.
That's why we changed over to a TS3 server.

I am pretty sure Ventrilo is 8 slot without a license, but I am not 100%. Either way it is between 8-10 slots.

We used to be a die hard fan of ventrilo over ts2.
ts2 sound was really bad and annoying.

TS3 quality is far better and as clear as Ventrilo now,
but TS3 channels permission can be difficult.

We left Ventrilo because of the slot restrictions.

We were going to switch to ts3 and a unmanaged vps but the team wants vent so we are paying for a 50slot or using a friends.

They want to use vent over ts no matter what. lol.

Well since there are so many more servers then players. I am getting aware with running.

64 slot bf3 ranked conquest
24 slot bf3 ranged tdm rush
16 slot bf3 ranked match server normal mode
16 slot bf3 ranked match server hardcore mode
18 slot MW3 server.

All on the same 2 core VPS. Ha if only more people would play.

side note mw3 is jacked up. still downloading client been 4 days. my internet has been shit lately. damn 14 gigs of bitmaps.
