How do i contact an admin from a server?

This is used for general discussion that is not necessarily server-related.

You can have whatever rules you like, on an un-ranked server. However, on a ranked server you can not limit or restrict the use of any weapon. Doing so is a violation of EA's RoE.
wow ... you know you could just play on any of the 7000 other servers out there right?

Derp. Does that solve the problem of admins abusing the RoE? Nope. Thats about as stupid a statement as saying, no need to report a hacker, just go play on one of the other 7,000 servers. Please.

For Kraze...

§1.5 Server administrators may not explicitly or implicitly (by actions) enforce restrictions on vehicles or weapons that players can use while on your server (e.g. knives only, aircraft prohibited except for clan members, etc.)

* § Infantry only Servers
* § Kicking Players who use vehicles or aircraft
* § Limiting certain vehicles or aircraft for non clan members

I can understand why they would want to regulate gameplay on ranked servers, even if a player can just go to another server. If it were an unranked server, then yeah, I would just say go elsewhere.

The thing is, there are no unranked servers for BF3 yet. That kinda makes it controversal with rule enforcement. :?

I agree. I don't make the rules, but I do try to follow them. Not my problem Dice releases a half finished game. Bottom line, they are violating the RoE. There is nothing in the EA forums or help section for reporting things. Go figure. I sent an email to the only EA address I could Google, asking for help as to where to report things.

Odd how no one seems to know anything about anything.

It might be something they want left alone until Unranked servers are ready. As TimeX said there are none. So it's a tough spot at the moment.

Are you for real? Your actually going to quote a rule from 2006 for BF2? Sorry to say this doesn't apply to BF3.

Derp.

First, I never said I was kicked, I simply stated they are violating the RoE on a ranked server by banning people for using a weapon. And YES this RoE is still in effect, andf YES it does pertain to BF3, per Dice. Get your facts straight before you say anything, makes you look dumb.

http://forums.electronicarts.co.uk/batt ... rvers.html
Ranked vs Unranked

One of the biggest choices which a server administrator has to make is, whether to run the server in Ranked or Unranked mode.

In Ranked mode, player progression is tracked on EAs master servers. Weapons are unlocked by playing the game. Player progression is also visible on Battlelog. The server administrators will have to abide by the Battlefield Rules of Conduct.

In Unranked mode, player progression is not tracked on the master servers. Server administrators have free reign on such servers – no Battlefield Rules of Conduct to heed. They can control in detail which weapons are available to the players, etc. This mode is suited to playing clan matches, tournaments, or to those players who just like the fairness of everyone having the same range of weapons available to them.

That's better.

I wasn't disagreeing with the rule as it was the same for BFBC2.

Just can't refer to other game rules and apply them to another game.

Seen a lot of this in BFBC2 where they restricted M203's and snipers.
Restricting squads to only allowing 1 sniper.

Lets try to keep this civil. Unfortunately rules are rules :/

Lets hope dice has unranked servers available soon.

Maybe the violations reporting department will be added in the next patch. :P

so your plan is to contact the admin of the server, tell him/her that they are in violation of EA RoE ... and when they give you their most likely response of "bye" (being mild) ... what are you going to do next? lawsuit?

you're comparing a server setup to someone who intentionally exploits the game to achieve an advantage ... apples to oranges

they have rules on their servers, who cares, if it violates the RoE then let EA deal with it.

I think that was his point, to contact EA and let them know about it, then let them handle it from there. That is how I read it, at least.

Thanks TimeX, glad someone here has a clue.

IMO reporting servers for RoC violations is no less important then reporting players that use cheats. If a server admin wishes to violate the rules that govern the fair use of their server, then they should not have a server online, period.

Like it or not, those are the rules. 8O

I believe that DICE has said before that the EA support desk is the place to report RoE violators. I will dig around and see if I can find where I saw this.
