SSD mount

Post by xKillerbees »

I have an open ticket for this. #406559

I'm trying to get my server back online. KBgaming. I was trying to get mcmyadmin rebooted and could not so I rebooted the server from the control panel and now it appears to not be responding for ftp or ssh. My co-admin is asleep and I needed to make updates to the Minecraft server. I'm used to Ubuntu.

This may indicate that you have an invalid /etc/fstab. What was changed about the server since its last reboot? You will likely need to log in under single-user mode and undo that change.

It spams this as well.

BUG: soft lockup - CPU#0 stuck for 61s! [swapper:0]

This is what my co-admin said when I mentioned what you said. He is working though so he can't mess with it.

"A left over RAMDISK that is not active, it hasn't bothered a reboot since 3 weeks ago. Its an improper line, so it simply ignores it."

I do not know how to log into single user mode with PuTTY or your control panel.

It would be best if he tried to fix it himself, if this is an unusual configuration.

What flavor of Linux are you running? You indicated it is not Ubuntu.

Debian Squeeze x64, i've been trying to get into single user mode, its not an unusual config. Vanilla Debian Squeeze, except for the Fstab line it appears. Gives me the same error. I can barely edit the boot options when i try, it freezes 70% of the time.

It sounds like he's already familiar with editing the boot options, then, which is good (it's done by interrupting grub by hitting a key at the very beginning of the boot, then hitting "e", then adding " single" to the end of the "kernel" line, then hitting "b" to boot).

I'm not sure what he means about the freezing, though.

Been trying that since the beginning, I got in finally. It's up and operational. That was annoying, the VNC froze every time i tried to get in. I knew what to do, I just couldn't get in to do it. Last time I had to get one of their techs to get in and do it for me.

I haven't seen any problems with VNC freezes. He may need to try using a different VNC client in the future.
